My theories about the purpose of education is in the twenty-first century

I believe education's purpose in the 21st century is to prepare students to be successful now and in the future. Giving them the tools, strategies and confidence to navigate the many challenges they are and will face. Educators are responsible for providing an environment in which students can develop a solid academic foundation and foster the development of social and emotional skills. The pandemic taught me that we must focus on rebuilding a sense of community by creating trust and respect and engaging in honest conversations about systemic barriers. This will be a journey to reflect, improve and change our practices to ensure our minoritized students feel they belong, are safe and find success.
